BIODUN AKINTEMI

Biodun is the visioner of HoodProf Education and Empowerment Foundation. Getting involved in community development activities through strategic contributions to his local Community Development Association, he envisioned the idea of setting up a neighbourhood resource centre that will serve as a library for children from low income backgrounds, where they could walk in and have free access to a range of educational resources.

He believes the literacy gap between children from low income neighbourhoods and their peers from more affluent backgrounds could be bridged by setting up free libraries equipped with digital resources to improve their literacy and further develop their academic capabilities. He envisioned HoodProf as a vehicle to drive some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); especially goals #4 and #10 (Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities), of the United Nations, empowering indigent pupils/students through free access to textbooks and other literary materials, ICT resources, in a comfortable resource centre such as the flagship library situated at Idimu; which will be replicated across other low income neighbourhoods in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

Biodun is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University graduating with B.Sc. honours in Mass Communication and Britefire Institute, South Africa where he earned a certificate in Digital Marketing. As Executive Director/CEO, Biodun is in charge of overall administration of the Foundation with strategic inputs from other members of the board.
